PC case features you should consider when buying a PC case

1. Airflow

2. Cooling System

If you plan to use liquid AIO coolers or install custom liquid cooling through the CPU and GPU, your case must have the necessary openings to make it easier to install and cleaner. In addition, not all cases can accommodate liquid cooling coolers of all sizes. If you have already purchased a cooling system, checking which coolers your case can support is best. Each cabinet's technical specifications page will list the radiator sizes it supports.

 

More powerful CPU air coolers can get very bulky. Check what kind of case and memory (RAM) clearance they need to install them smoothly. Most air cooler spec pages list their height, as shown in this example. Check against the width (not the height!) of the case. Check it to make sure your air cooler will fit comfortably.

 

3. Graphics Card Length

Although this is no longer an issue now that graphics cards are shorter and cases provide more clearance, your graphics card may still be too long to fit in the case you purchased. Thankfully, there is an easy way to check if this will be a problem. Each case page will have a specification stating the maximum length of the graphics card it supports.

 

Now, simply match this case specification to the length on the graphics card specifications page.

4. Cable Management

Again, this is becoming more and more of a standard feature. Enclosures with great cable management make your build cleaner and more manageable. Not only does your interior look gorgeous and clean, but it can even enhance your installation and modification experience later. Dedicated sections for hiding and routing cables and a removable back panel on the cabinet are good indicators of an enclosure with good cable management.

 

5. PSU Shroud

Loose cables from the PSU can frustrate everyone who assembles their PC. The PSU shroud in the case helps to keep loose cables and the PSU hidden inside a neat enclosure. This is a must-have if you want a certain neatness and a clean build, especially if you plan to use non-modular PSUs.
