What Is Light Diffusion?

For a light to be referred to as diffused, it must be one reflected on a rough or frosted surface or one that has been evenly dispersed by a medium.

While the normal reflection of light is the bouncing back of light after heating a shiny surface, a Diffused Light is scattered, less harsh, and appears to be welling around Objects.

 

Light diffusion is a natural phenomenon as well as something that can be made artificially. Naturally, you can observe how the sun's rays are distributed evenly around the earth's environment with the cloud serving as dispersing medium.

 

Also, diffusion of light can be made artificially by the dispersing of light by a light bulb. Or a light passing through a glass prism is a very good example.

 

When a part to diffuse light is to be made, the main requirements are the light source and dispersing material.

 

For the Rapid Prototyping diffusion of light, usually, a Led lamp or filament is taken up.
