While metrics like HA describe how much wider this transmission window is, with higher numbers indicating more area covered.
Using these two measuring scales, the system has been made a little easier whereby customers will specify the range they want their Part's diffusion of light to be around.
But even with these measurements manufacturers still find difficulty in meeting the exact specification as a lot of other things are put into consideration. Like the thickness of the prototype wall, the amount of the diffusing agent, the level of tinting effect on the paint, and the structure of the resin used will affect the rate a part diffuses light.
Like, a part with 50% of a diffusing agent without tinting done will diffuse light differently from the same kind of part with the same amount of diffusing agent but with a different wall thickness.
For two parts with different make-up materials but with the same amount of diffusing agent to have the same diffusing effect, different aspects as mentioned above must be reduced or added where necessary.
